Atan’s 3mm neoprene is coated with an external rubber to ensure that your feet are “toasty” warm. The thin 3mm gives you the sensation of being barefoot.
CONSTRUCTION OF THE ATAN MISTRAL BOOT
Atan’s are constructed with a titanium neoprene, then glued and sewn with a fine latex sole.
Inside, the curls are glued onto the foam with titanium based neoprene glue, which in turn reflects heat back in towards the foot.
OUR OPINION
If you like to have warm feet, and to keep them protected against sun, cold, wind, impact, scratches, sea life, beach debris, etc., etc., then these are superb. There is simply nothing out there that is as good.
They very, very slightly stretch after 2-3 uses, so select your size to be a fit snug when ordering.
Round toe keeps all toes together to keep them all warm, while the split toe option (Atan Madisson) minimises movement of your foot within the boot…they fell like wearing a flip flop.
Super tip! …turn your Mistral boots inside out after each session, flush with cold water, and then hang to dry in the fresh air. If you don’t, they’ll pong from the oils sweated from your skin (it is the same for everybody). See the pictures for how flexible these boots really are.
